The Finance Committee at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD) is entrusted with safeguarding the financial integrity of our institution. Guided by Islamic principles of trust (amanah), accountability, and transparency, our mission is to ensure that every dollar entrusted to ICCD is managed with care, documented with precision, and used in service of our spiritual, educational, and communal goals.

📊 Core Responsibilities

  • Budget Planning & Oversight
    Develop and monitor ICCD’s annual budget in collaboration with the Board, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and community needs.

  • Financial Reporting
    Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and fund allocations. Provide regular reports to the Board and community to promote transparency.

  • Audit & Compliance
    Coordinate internal reviews and external audits to ensure compliance with legal standards, nonprofit regulations, and Islamic ethical guidelines.

  • Fund Allocation
    Oversee the responsible disbursement of funds across ICCD programs, including education, outreach, infrastructure, and charitable services.

  • Policy Development
    Establish and update financial policies that promote efficiency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
