Mission

The Islamic Community of Des Plaines is an independent, non-profit organization committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for worshippers of Allah, regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, or age. Our mission is to serve and engage with both Muslim and non-Muslim communities in line with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunna (way of life) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The ICCD is dedicated to alleviating human suffering by offering compassionate support to those affected by adversities and disasters. We aim to build healthy communities, strengthen families, and provide opportunities for those in need while preserving their dignity. Our mission is made possible by the efforts of our dedicated volunteers. As a Muslim organization, we believe it is our religious duty to assist those in need within our city, regardless of their race, religion, or other identifying characteristics.

02.

Vision

To convey a clear perception and understanding of the Islamic teachings to Muslims and Non-Muslims. We aim to inspire an appreciation of Islamic values by educating the community about the religion and its principles, and by demonstrating their effectiveness in today’s world. Our spiritual vision is to pursue faith, knowledge, justice, freedom, purpose, and righteousness in a peaceful and caring environment.

Objectives

Our goal is to create an environment where the community can practice Islam and worship Allah (Almighty God) as outlined in the Quran and exemplified in the Sunnah. We aim to bring the community together by offering welcoming services, including: - Five Daily Congregational Prayers (Salah) - Friday Congregational Prayers (Jumuah) - Ramadan Congregational Prayers (Taraweeh) - Eid Congregational Prayers (Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha) We strive to guide young Muslims in developing exemplary Muslim character within the community. Our mission includes educating Muslims about the teachings of Islam, providing an Islamic perspective on societal challenges, and strengthening ties among community members. We also aim to present Islam to the broader society and build bridges of understanding with other cultures and faiths. Additionally, we contribute to the Des Plaines community through outreach, multi-faith, and social services such as feed the hunger program, provide affordable health care services through compassionate care network, and more.
