Evening School

Our evening Maktab is designed for children who attend regular public school and want to build a strong foundation in Islamic studies, Arabic, and Qur’an. Held Monday through Thursday from 5:00–6:30 pm, the program blends nurturing instruction with structured progression so students can grow in faith, character, and fluency.


Program schedule and structure

  • Days: Monday–Thursday
  • Time: 5:00–6:30 pm
  • Calendar: Follows the academic year with breaks aligned to major school holidays
  • Class length: 90 minutes with short transition breaks
  • Attendance: Consistent attendance is expected for steady progress

Curriculum and learning goals

  • Qur’an reading and tajwīd:
    Students progress from letter recognition to fluent recitation with correct pronunciation, focusing on makhārij, basic rules, and confident, respectful delivery.

  • Arabic foundations:
    Letter forms, sounds, vocabulary, and sentence basics to build practical reading skills and comprehension, preparing students for independent study and deeper texts.

  • Islamic studies and character:
    Core beliefs (ʿAqīdah), daily worship (Ṣalāh, adhkār), prophetic manners (Akhlāq), seerah highlights, and age-appropriate fiqh—taught with real-life application.

  • Memorization:
    Essential surahs and daily duas to anchor practice at home and in the masjid.

  • Assessment and feedback:
    Regular checkpoints with simple rubrics, parent feedback notes, and individualized goals so every child knows their next step.


Levels and placement

  • Beginner:
    Letter recognition, basic sounds, short words, foundational duas, and prayer basics.

  • Intermediate:
    Fluent letter reading, short surah memorization, introductory tajwīd rules, expanding Arabic vocabulary.

  • Advanced:
    Smooth Qur’an recitation, applied tajwīd, seerah summaries, fiqh of daily life, and Arabic reading comprehension.

Placement is based on a brief, friendly assessment during enrollment to ensure the right level and momentum.


Enrollment and parent partnership

  • Eligibility: Ages 6–15 (flexible based on readiness)
  • How to enroll: Complete the registration form, placement assessment, and parent orientation
  • Parent communication: Weekly progress notes and monthly checkpoints to keep goals clear
  • Expectations at home:
    • Reading log: 10–15 minutes of Qur’an or Arabic practice daily
    • Dua review: Short, consistent practice builds confidence
    • Attendance: Arrive on time to maximize the 90-minute window
