Purpose & Spirit

The Volunteer Committee at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD) is the heartbeat of our community’s service efforts. Rooted in the prophetic tradition of selfless giving, our mission is to mobilize volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to serve with sincerity, professionalism, and compassion. Whether supporting events, assisting families, or maintaining our facilities, every act of service is a reflection of our shared values and a contribution to the greater good.

“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”
— Hadith (Daraqutni)
