🕌 ICCD Zakat Committee

Purpose & Mission

The ICCD Zakat Committee is entrusted with one of the most sacred responsibilities in our faith: the collection, management, and distribution of Zakat and Sadaqah in accordance with the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Our mission is to ensure that every dollar entrusted to us reaches those most in need—respectfully, transparently, and with full accountability to our community and to Allah ﷻ.

🌟 Core Responsibilities

  • Zakat Collection: Secure and confidential collection of Zakat funds from eligible donors throughout the year, especially during Ramadan.
  • Needs Assessment: Careful review of applications from individuals and families facing financial hardship, guided by Islamic criteria and ethical discretion.
  • Fund Distribution: Timely and principled disbursement of Zakat and Sadaqah to qualified recipients, prioritizing dignity, urgency, and fairness.
  • Community Outreach: Educating the community about the importance of Zakat, its spiritual impact, and the proper methods of calculation and giving.

🤝 Who We Serve

We assist individuals and families within our local and extended community who are:

  • Facing financial distress due to job loss, illness, or crisis
  • Refugees, new immigrants, or displaced persons
  • Widows, orphans, and single parents
  • Students and others with verified need

All requests are handled with strict confidentiality and compassion.

📝 How to Apply

To request Zakat assistance, please complete our Zakat Request Form available at the ICCD office or online. Applicants may be asked to provide:

  • Proof of income and expenses
  • Identification and residency documentation
  • A brief explanation of current hardship

Our committee reviews each request with care, and decisions are made collectively to ensure fairness and alignment with Islamic guidelines.

💼 Committee Integrity

The Zakat Committee operates under the oversight of ICCD’s Board and adheres to strict governance protocols. All funds are tracked, audited, and reported annually to maintain full transparency and community trust.

📖 Qur’anic Foundation
